Dr. Liu was recommended by my PCP as a surgeon to repair my inguinal hernia. I went online to get more information about him and found a link to a video of him performing the same type of surgery robotically. I was totally impressed. He was professional on every level, yet reassuring. The procedure was performed flawlessly, with minimal abdominal openings that soon healed, leaving no trace. When it came time to address a second inguinal hernia, my research led me to Dr. Liu. The initial consultation confirmed that he was a great choice--professional, friendly, and clearly an experienced leader in the field. Dr. Liu executed the robotic surgery perfectly and the surgery team at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center was amazing. I woke up from surgery feeling great and experienced virtually no pain throughout the entire healing process which concluded in the exact time frame the team indicated I should expect. I am so grateful to Dr. Liu and the team he works with for the excellent care I received and can't recommend both him and the Summit Medical Center surgery team enough. Hands down, Dr. Rockson Liu is one of the finest physicians practicing in the field of invasive robotic hernia surgery. In my opinion, he is simply the BEST!

Words cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Rockson Liu and his entire team. The level of care I received—from my first consultation through surgery and every follow-up appointment—far exceeded anything I could have expected.

For years, I lived with chronic pain. I had undergone hernia surgery about 15 years ago, but the repair had failed and needed to be corrected. I delayed seeking treatment because life got in the way, and at one point I was told by another physician that I needed to lose weight before surgery could even be considered. I committed to my health and lost 50 pounds.

During that time, my wife, who has been a nurse for more than 30 years, researched the top specialists in robotic hernia surgery. After extensive research, she found Dr. Rockson Liu and immediately scheduled an appointment because she knew I shouldn't have to continue living in constant pain.

From the moment I met Dr. Rockson Liu, I knew I was in the right hands. He took the time to thoroughly examine me, review my medical history, answer all of my questions, and make me feel comfortable. After reviewing my imaging, he recommended surgery right away to make the necessary repairs.

The entire experience was exceptional! The pre-surgery team was professional, compassionate, and reassuring. The surgery itself was a complete success, and the recovery process was supported by outstanding follow-up care from Dr. Rockson Liu and his staff.

Today, the chronic pain that had become part of my daily life is gone. I have my life back. Dr. Rockson Liu didn't just perform a successful surgery—he restored my health, gave me hope, and, in many ways, helped save my life.

I love Dr. Rockson Liu. He is my HERO! I will never forget the compassion he showed me, the confidence he gave me, and the incredible care I received from him and his entire team. I wish I had found them years earlier.  They truly changed my life.

El Dr Liu es un gran cirujano yo tuve una reparación de hernia !! Al primer cirujano que miré me dijo que tenía grasa adentro de mi hernia que me mandaría con su amigo al momento sentí mucho medio que me mandara con otro Dr que era el Dr luí y fue lo mejor que hizo !! Having a surgical experience with a DaVinci robot in tandem with Dr Rockson Liu was seamless.  It reminded me of a spectacular Pas de Deux in the New York City Ballet.  Everything was perfect. Dr. Liu is a truly caring professional. I met with him to discuss a hernia recurrence repair after my first surgery failed.
